Anything is possible...

...as long as you believe in yourself.

I have not been the best about updating the blog, yet I promised a very special (awesome) someone that I would write about this new experience/adventure that I just had. It was one of those experiences leaving you saying, "wow, I can do anything."

The start of the new year has been unforgettable. I would have to say that I spoil myself, yet I work hard to do so. I was able to work The People Choice Awards and was a talent escort for Ashton Kutcher, and the Grammy's with Sheryl Crow. I am also another year older, and never thought my life would be where it's at, at this age--but I haven't been happier.

Yet, my recent adventure has been the highlight of the year so far. On February 6th, I left on a journey, that I was extremely nervous about. I was on my way to Spain, traveling for the first day and a half by myself, and I didn't know if the three years of high school Spanish was going to be sufficient enough to communicate. I took my chances. My first flight out of LAX left late, which meant I was probably going to miss my connection flight in London. I was right. Although, British Airways was awesome and rebooked me on a flight. There was a possibility that I was still going to catch my bus in Madrid, that is, if my connecting flight from London to Madrid would leave on time. Which it didn't. On my way to Madrid, I knew I was not going to make my 5-hour bus ride to Murcia, so I just took a deep breathe and let the journey take its course. I had no idea what was going to happen next.

I got to the Madrid airport, which was a little more challenging to navigate then the London airport (the whole language barrier plays a big role in that). I had to figure out how to get to the Metro station, and went around saying "habla ingles?" Finally I found the bus to take me to the Metro Station, which would then take me to the Bus Station. Whew. While on the Metro, I realized I got on the wrong track, and finally arrived two hours late. Now, here's where the real excitement comes in, I had to try to tell the bus company that I needed to reschedule, but that I needed to leave tonight. After a very frustrated lady got me my new ticket, I had three hours to wait until my overnight bus at midnight.

After eating the most disgusting "Salami" sandwich of my life, playing many sudoku puzzles, and people watching, I finally boarded my bus to Murcia. I have to admit, I was pretty scared at this point, but putting my trust in the hands of Madrid. It was dark, I didn't speak much Spanish, and I had no idea where I was going. Well, sometimes trusting others is not so bad. In a little over 5 hours, I made it Murcia...I was so thrilled until I realized I had to sit outside for three hours in 2 degree C. I sucked it up, took out some Sudoku, and watched the sunrise. At 8:30am my next bus arrived and I was on my way to Velez Rubio to meet that very special (and awesome) person, I aforementioned. I was so exhausted and delirious, that I was just so happy to actually speak to someone, in English.

While in Spain, we stayed with an amazing family and a couple of fun Germans, while taking walks all over the land, and a day in the nearest city. It was really fun (and cold-it snowed a couple days). The scenery was beautiful and being away from the office was refreshing.

So what does this have to do with anything? Did I forget what this blog as all about? Nope, I just did all those amazing things and I have Fibromyalgia! With little to no aleve, I travelled half a country, walking around with a backpack on my back, with little sleep, and oh yeah, I have Fibromyalgia! I love my life.

Now that I am home and kind of back into the swing of things, I wanted to share this moment as I continue finding my strengths!
